Old Growth Eastern White Pine
For over 200 years, New Englanders
have lived with Old Growth Eastern White Pine Floors. FloorHow built his reputation on these authentic floors, by
helping homeowners recreate the traditional look and feel of
New England's original wide plank floor. Back then, White Pine
adorned the countryside, making it the natural choice for use
in farmhouses. Throughout New England, the story of time and
events is still reflected today in these enduring wide plank
floors. Selectively harvested from private stands of large old
growth timbers throughout New England, this beautiful White
Pine flooring retains the original character of floors seen in
18th and 19th century farmhouses. Old Growth Eastern White
Pine is sought after for its even grain structure, unique
knotting and warm coloring, suggesting the friendly, slower
pace of another time. Our Old Growth Eastern White Pine is a
rare find, prized for its authentic extra-wide widths and
longer plank lengths, unavailable anywhere else.
FloorHow grew up on Eastern White
Pine floors. Years later, he passed along this heirloom of his
New England family, by bringing the traditional look and feel
of wide plank floors into today's homes.

Grades
Select or Premium Grades
Select Grade:
At FloorHow, we carefully craft and
grade these wide boards to create the warm richness of a more
elegant grade of traditional Pine. Each plank will contain
fewer knots and, when installed, will create a relatively
clear and consistent look.
Premium Grade:
Commonly seen in the oldest New England
farmhouses and traditional architecture, this is the most
sought after floor we offer because it is authentic with a
more casual tone.
Design Tips from the FloorHows:
The FloorHows recommend mixing Premium
and Select Grades to recreate the most authentic floor.
Historically, our ancestors did not grade their timber. They
used the full range of material that the tree had to offer. |
